Surah Ihlas, which consists of the verse, is the one hundred and twelfth sura in the Qur'an, and the twenty-second surah in the order of its revelation. There is also a rumor that it was revealed in Mecca but was revealed in Medina. Those who say that it was revealed in Mecca are the polytheists of Mecca. They point to the narrations stating that they came to the Prophet (SAV) and said, "Tell us about the lineage of your Lord," and that this surah was revealed as evidence. Those who say that it was revealed in Medina are the Jews and Christians. As an answer to the questions they asked the Prophet (SAV) about Allah, Gabriel's letter to Hz. They cited the narrations stating that he came to the Prophet (PBUH) and recited the surah "Kul huvellahu ahad" as evidence. However, the style and content of the surah strengthens that it was revealed in the Meccan period. In the surah, in which some of Allah's attributes are expressed concisely and the importance of belief in tawhid is emphasized, the following is stated: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Merciful... He is God, one and only. Allah is Samed. (Everything is in need of Him; He does not need anything.) He did not give birth and was not born. Nothing is equal or similar to Him.
